Handmade in England

Scotsman Alexander Simpson started production of shaving brushes and male grooming ancillaries in 1919 and is widely regarded as a pioneer in the industry. Manufacturing was originally based in the East end of London but later in Clapham. In 1941, following the loss of his factory during the World War II German Luftwaffe blitz, production was moved to the West Country at the famous Nimmer Mill. Today Simpson shaving brushes and associated products are manufactured by Progress Shaving Brush (Vulfix) Limited on the historic Isle of Man. They continue to be produced in the traditional way using hand tied knots by time served, skilled workers.

Amazing Synthetic Brush

Be recommended by lots of people. Not the best or high-end Synthetic Brush on the market, but it provides a wonderful lather with softness on the hair.

Great Brush!

The brush holds a lot of lather, dries quickly and is a perfect size, plus the bristles are really soft. Would definitely recommend.

Great starter brush

This is the one that I hesitated over the most when I was putting together my first DE kit. I'd say bite the bullet and go for it. Brush size is just perfect, not too large, not too small. Read the other comment about shaking out the water - I agree. I'd wet the brush, shake out the water, apply shaving cream, and then add a tiny amount of water in increments between brushing till I get the foam consistency that I like. Good for face as well as bowl lathering. Synthetics have come far and are easy to maintain.

Soft head, alot of water retention

The knot is nice and soft which allows for gentle application. There is quite a lot of water though that hangs around and I got an over the top watery lather that I had to add cream to for the right consistency, but will note that for next time shake more out before lathering.

Quite a dense knot that holds its shape. Glad to have a brush from the UK as well.

Works well

Recommended by FineShave and they seem to have got it right on the nail again. Nice size brush for lathering soap and it likes to paint the lather on my face. So soft and a nice size to use. Another world famous brand name hand making items just for the likes of us.
