How to use a scuttle
Scuttles were introduced in the Victorian era as a way to give hot lather when there was no access to running hot water. Hot water is poured into the spout and the shaving soap is placed in the soap holder which has drainage holes. The brush is then used with the soap to create a lather, with the excess water draining back into the scuttle.
