LØTHUR SIGNATURE SCENT

The inspiration behind ‘DAVE’ comes from our founder’s father David, a great source of inspiration at Løthur. This was a man who was seldom found without a cup of the ‘good stuff’ in hand (English breakfast tea) and was rarely seen out of his sacred space, the back garden. David grew giant lilies, creeping jasmine, tall sweet peas and vibrant iris flowers.

DAVE opens with light, citrusy and fruity top notes, reminiscent of Darjeeling tea. It has a soft jasmine accord at its heart and is perfectly rooted with notes of assam and powdery iris root.

Ingredients V2 Base:

Potassium Stearate, Potassium Tallowate, Glycerin, Potassium Kokumate, Aqua, Sorbitol, Parfum, Potassium Castorate, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Hexyl cinnamal, Linalol, Alpha-isomethylionone


Directions of use:

Prep your facial hair with warm water (shower is best). Load your shaving brush for 30 seconds or more, until the brushes bristles are covered in soap. Create a lather with your shaving brush directly onto the face or in a shaving bowl, adding water as needed (aiming for a PVA glue consistency). Shave as normal using your desired method. For external use only, if irritation occurs discontinue use.

Great product and service!

Five stars for both the product and the service!

Decided to give Løthur a try because of the hype amongst the wetshavers across the world over the past year or two. Superb lather offering exceptional slickness, protection and postshave feel. Unfortunately, my skin reacted to the croap a little bit every time I shaved with it, but not too serious.

Picked "Dave" based on the intriguing descriptions on its scent profiles. Flowery notes like lilies and jasmine were well pronounced, but I just could not recognise the tea notes, nothing was reminiscent of the Darjeeling or Assam teas that I had savoured. The first impression of the scent I got upon lathering and applying, was capsicums, with a little bit of heated plastic to my nose . That might not sound enjoyable, but don't get me wrong, it's not unpleasant, and I don't dislike it either.

Would I recommend this product? Definitely yes, though it gave me a little reaction and was not in a scent to my liking. YMMV, these were just my skin chemistry and personal preference. Performance wise, it's an excellent shaving croap. Would I buy it again? Probably not. I think I would probably spend $4 more and get a Formula CK-6 PAA soap, which I personally think offers better value, better scents and as great, or even better performance, dare I say.
