Astra sp

Wonderful blades, sharp but not too sharp, a great all rounder and great for a new wet shaver and pro.
I'm new to DE razors and find the astra is my choice

Great Beginner Blade

I found the Astra blades a great beginner blade. I got approximately 3 shaves per blade. Though have subsequently moved to the Nacet blade and found these to be even better on my face/ skin.

the first blade to start with!

It's recommended that the people new to DE shaving should start with this one and use it for about a month. I agree - I've used 4 blades, kept 1 as a spare, and then switched to other ones to experiment. Good blades and forgiving. For thick, high growth beard, 3 shaves (2/3 pass) per blade before you replace. Alternate days shaving = 1 week. Good value for money. I've found the Gillette Nacet to be very similar but probably slightly smoother in terms of glide. Probably can't tell with my eyes closed.

Great shave, for a cheap price

Got my pack in 2 days after buying, first shave was great, smooth, and decently sharp for my mild skin; good as for the price.

Amazing service, asked for help and got really useful, detailed and quick responses with options to look at and notes on blades/combinations to try. Definitely the place to shop. Products arrived overnight and loving them, so easy!

Great blade, needs a couple of passes for thick hair

My gold standard is the Dovo Super blade on a Henson AL13 (mild exposure). The fabled, implausibly thin Astra SP comes close to that, but I need a couple of passes for even a casual shave. I have sensitive skin and I got a couple of nicks on the use, but not afterwards. I got four good shaves out of one blade, started pushing it a tad on the fourth one.

A great blade

This is just a classic sharp blade. It’s sharp but not aggressive so you can adjust the pressure without fear of cutting yourself. Very good blade at a good price.

Good blade

Not dangerously sharp and forgiving, most suitable for light to normal stubble, a good first blade.

Favourite low-cost blades

I never tried a sample pack, I just went straight for Astra 'greens' based on recommendations and reviews. I've also purchased the pricier and more premium Polsilver blades. Both are tremendous at keeping an edge for up to 8 shaves per blade. I also favour blades that have completely recyclable packaging. I love Astra blades and highly recommend them.

Made by Proctor Gamble

I thought this was from a smaller company, but it is produced by Proctor Gamble. The shave was okay, but the main company is not good ethically.

Excellent yet Cheap Blades

These blades are sharper than the more expensive blades such as green gillette 7'oclock blades, though not quite as smooth perhaps. Will depend on your razor. I'm using the Edwin Jagger DE89 Safety Razor with Barley Handle.
