Smells nice but not sure what it actually does

This is my first pre-shave cream and essentially I wanted it to protect against a patch of razor burn I get on my throat. It hasn't really done this and I've not seen a reduction in nicks or cuts either which usually only occur if I'm rushing. I'll try a different brand but if all it does is make the shave slightly nicer then, for the cost, I don't really see the point.

Smells great and preps the shave well

The smell of this is just amazing. Of all my various soaps and after shaves, this is the one I always take a great whif of prior to shaving. It goes on easy as a pre-shave softener, and washes off your hands really quickly, getting you ready for the next step.

A rich start of the shave

The smell is so rich and spicy. It makes my skin instantly feel softer and more elastic when massaged into the stubble after rinsing my face in warm water. Lasts a really long time and layers well with lots of different types of shaving cream.

Helps your razor glide

Never tried a pre-shave cream before, but I'm wondering why not now. This really prepares your stubble and once you apply your shaving cream over the top, helps the razor glide even better than before.I'll always be using this as part of my shaving routine now, might give the menthol version a whirl when this jar is empty.

Pre-shave cream dream

My life is split into 3 chapters. (1) Before I starting shaving, (2) Shaving without pre-shave cream, (3) Shaving with pre-shave cream.

It seems criminal that my father taught me shave and did not mention pre-shave cream. I have to assume his father did not tell him either. This cycle of generational neglect ends with me. My sons will know the truth.

In my pre-shave cream experience, there is nothing better than Proraso in Sandalwood. Manly yet gentle. Always I highlight of my day.

Works a charm!

I'm not sure how this cream works, but in combination with my shift to cold water wed shaving (with a DE razor), I no longer get any irritation whatsoever. This product is now an essential part of my shaving workflow. Highly recommend. (Thanks also FineShave for shipping so quickly).

I have been using Proraso shaving cream for a couple of years, but have always used Floyd or Dr K pre-shave. i decided this time to try the Proraso Sandalwood pre and what a pleasant surprise. It is so easy to use, works very well with less shaving rash and the scent is very pleasant. Best of all, a little goes a long way. Highly recommended
