Fatip Grande Open Comb Safety Razor

This was intended to be my away from home razor but having used it today with polsilver SI blade it was great super smooth shave no nicks or cuts. I would offer word of caution this is not a beginners razor. It’s a step up razor from something mild. Slick and light strokes are required and a good lather to help cushion the glide. Gives a very close shave. Wouldn't be suited if you have sensitive skin. Have to use very light strokes. Has a very good grip on the handle, and is easy to use..

For years I've been searching for the closest shave I could find. I do believe I've found that. Great looking razor that doesn't disappoint. Don't be intimidated by the open comb. Just let the razor do the work and you won't have many issues. I used Astra SP blades which I'd never used before and did have quite a few little nicks but this was the first time I'd tried them and I hadn't shaved for about four days. I found this review very helpful in helping me decide to buy this.

This razor is the perfect match for my very coarse beard and sensitive skin. It gives super close shaves; just keep a light touch and it'll stay comfortable on the skin too. I'd be cautious about using super sharp blades if you're unfamiliar with open comb razors - I started using it loaded with Feathers and found it too brisk. This combo would likely work well for some (and now that I have some familiarity with the razor I'll likely go back and try it again), but I'd recommend starting off with a milder blade (and use a good soap/cream). I'm loving it with Astra SPs at the moment. Especially given the price, I'm really happy with this razor and would happily shave with it for the rest of my life - it looks like it will probably last that long too!
