Highlights

Take a Closer Look

The Feather Popular DE razor is a economical and light-weight razor that offers a close and comfortable shave. This very affordable razor features a twist-to-open (TTO) design with a handle slightly longer than average, enabling users to have that 'feather' touch shave. The body is made of an attractive polymer plastic and the silo doors are made of metal.
All standard double edge blades are easily loaded in the Butterfly doors of the shave head with no razor dis-assembly required.

- includes a pack of 2 Feather Stainless Blades.

Budget-friendly safety razor praised for travel and beginners. Customers said it delivers a "close shave with no cuts" and appreciate the butterfly mechanism. The lightweight design and longer handle provide good control. Some noted the included blades may be too sharp for sensitive skin, with alternatives recommended. A few mentioned difficulty maneuvering in sensitive areas.

  • Pleasantly surprised how close the shave was with no cuts.
  • Have not shed a drop of blood in over two weeks.
  • Great first/travel DE Razor with case included.

Good Japan quality for the price. Good back up as an overnite or for travel.

Solid beginners model.

I am new to safety razors so it's hard to make a fair call on this model. However I do like the easy butterfly mechanism for opening and replacing razors. In particular the ability to open the razor post shave to help air the razor to help dry. I have had to learn to hold the razor differently so as not to accidently unscrew the razor while shaving. That being said the feather popular is a budget friendly option for a beginner like me.

Great inexpensive razor

I have Merkur 34C and bought the Feather butterfly for travel. I found it gives me a much superior shave compared with the Merkur. When I first opened the box, I thought it felt cheaply made, but I have grown to love the lighter feel and the longer handle. Have not shed a drop of blood in over two weeks. It has become my regular razor and I just bought a second for travel,

Great starter razor

This is my first safety razor and it has been great! I’ve had it over a year now and it’s still going strong.

An Alright Razor

This razor does the job, the only complaint that I have is that the metal parts on the side make it hard to maneuver in sensitive places as they can tug and scratch at the skin.

Light and usable

Gives a close but not too severe shave if you take good time with the prep, but could be too close if you don't. It is light and therefore handy to use, the longer handle gives better control, and seems to work best with (strangely enough) Feather blades. Good general purpose razor likely good for dedicated beginners as well as those of us who have been using the shaving brush for 40+ years.

This razor is ideal: inexpensive, stylish, and mild. While the Feather blades that come with the razor are too sharp for my sensitive skin, Derby and Astra blades work best with this model. The handle is very light compared to most safety razors. Overall, perfect for a beginner, provided that you can find a good blade.

Good value

I got this to use as my work razor as I commute for shift work. It's a good razor for the price and for those new to double edge razors. I found the feather blades a bit to brisk for my sensitive face.

First safety razor I've bought

New to safety razor shaving

As an introduction to double edged safety razor shaving you'd struggle to find better value. However be warned: graduating from a cartridge razor to this is like switching from an air rifle to a machine gun. Its sharp and requires more attention. Get a bleeding control kit and some good shave soap.

Great for my use.

Bought it to shave my neck and under jaw when I use trimmer for my beard. So nice to use compared to grotty disposables or my sweethearts leg'n armpit device
