Merkur 42C Safety Razor

This was my first safety razor so I was a bit nervous when purchasing. However, It's actually easy to use and gives a really nice shave! The only reason it's not 5 stars is I would prefer a longer handle but that's just my personal preference.

A rather mixed bag with this. The pros: it is a relatively inexpensive german made saftey razor that should carrier the indefinite merkur durability, it's handle has a really good grip and looks really old school. The cons: I find the three piece **** to not be as smooth as with the Muhle, and this is little too mild for me. Even with a feather blade I was still having to go back over trouble spots for a bbs finish.

Worth the money, especially if you have sensitive skin.

I found the shave a bit harsh but will try a few more times before I decide if I will continue to use.

Excellent German safety razor. Great shave.

Its an exceptionally beautiful and well crafted razor. Something that can last 2 lifetimes. Its has a non agressive angle and the short weighty handle is a huge plus

…….in 40+ years of wet shaving this is the best safety razor I’ve ever had. Beautifully balanced, nice weight, easy to handle, and it gives a very smooth shave. Highly recommend it.
