The Merkur 1904 Classic Double Edge Safety Razor has a six sided etched handle giving it a nice look and added grip when shaving. This attractive razor with a faceted handle is modeled after the original design of the 1904 double edge razor invented by King Camp Gillette. The razor has a nice weight to it allowing for an effortless, irritation-free, shave.
For over 100 years Merkur has been producing quality crafted razors using only the highest quality materials.

Great shaver

This was my first safety razor so I was a bit nervous when purchasing. However, It's actually easy to use and gives a really nice shave! The only reason it's not 5 stars is I would prefer a longer handle but that's just my personal preference.

Pluses and minuses

A rather mixed bag with this. The pros: it is a relatively inexpensive german made saftey razor that should carrier the indefinite merkur durability, it's handle has a really good grip and looks really old school. The cons: I find the three piece **** to not be as smooth as with the Muhle, and this is little too mild for me. Even with a feather blade I was still having to go back over trouble spots for a bbs finish.

Worth the money, especially if you have sensitive skin.
