How to use a Soap Stick :

  • Use warm water to wet your beard
  • Rub the stick against the grain all over your beard
  • Use a wet shaving brush to build lather directly on your face
  • For bowl lathering: Dip the tip into hot water for some seconds and give your brush a few rubs against the stick
  • Tip: Keep adding a little water while working the brush on the face. It quickly adds more volume to the lather. Stop when you are satisfied and shave.

I have tried several brands of shaving soap in different presentations. The best of all is La Toja. It makes a thick foam that makes razors glide over my skin. It is not the most expensive of all the ones that I have tried, so it is fantastic value for money.

As it was my first time using a shaving soap stick it took me a bit of trial and error. Once I got the hang of it, I loved it. For me a very damp brush using COLD water made all the difference.

I purchased Thelma Toja stick because I am travelling ing in a couple of months.I have been using a gel and did not want the bulk. I tried the stick and was so impressed that I have ditched the gel and will need to purchase another La Toja before I go but the stick seems to be lasting very well

I like it, I like it.

Well, what a surprise. Smells okay, lathers on your face great, in fact one of the better soaps to lather that I"ve tried. it's good wetting the face and rubbing this stick through your bristles and then going in with the damp boar brush. i will be keeping this one in my rotation for sure. Handy if you travet too.
