The Trafalgar is the latest offering from the new line of Alexander Simpson Est. 1919 shaving brushes.

This superbly crafted & eye catching lathe turned faux ivory handle is filled with their uniquely sourced Sovereign grade synthetic fibre. Sovereign grade fibres are super-soft, softer than any badger hair brush.
Densely packed fibres give this brush superb backbone, lathers shaving creams and soaps with ease. It's easy to grip, the large-sized handle fits nicely in the palm of your hand allowing you a firm grip when lathering up.
Animal friendly, no smell, no hair loss, suitable for sensitive skin sufferers.

This Simpsons Trafalgar Synthetic Faux Ivory Shaving Brush is remarkable value for money given its generous dimensions and brand pedigree.

Handmade in England

Scotsman Alexander Simpson started production of shaving brushes and male grooming ancillaries in 1919 and is widely regarded as a pioneer in the industry. Manufacturing was originally based in the East end of London but later in Clapham. In 1941, following the loss of his factory during the World War II German Luftwaffe blitz, production was moved to the West Country at the famous Nimmer Mill. Today Simpson shaving brushes and associated products are manufactured by Progress Shaving Brush (Vulfix) Limited on the historic Isle of Man. They continue to be produced in the traditional way using hand tied knots by time served, skilled workers.

Outstanding brush and no animals harmed.

This is an extremely high quality brush that will make you feel good both physically and ethically. Does a marvellous job of lathering your face, and no animals were used or harmed in its construction. Thanks fineshave.co.nz for shipping so quickly.

Highly Recommended!

These Trafalgar synthetic brushes have been receiving praises in the wetshaving communities around the world since their release towards the end of last year. When I saw them listed on FineShave, I just hit on the "ADD TO CART" button without hesitation. Reliable and efficient service as usual, the brush arrived safe and sound the next day. I suppose it's because the Trafalgar series is Simpson's budget offering, so the brush does not come with the usual Simpson's packaging. It does not have the famous golden sticker/decal stuck on it, but with poor quality carbon prints instead, which starts to wear off after 3 shaves. It comes in a plain red box without the elegant golden prints, and the brush model found on the bottom of the box is printed on a piece of plain sticker instead of the usual handwritten on a standard colour coded sticker. There is no standard brush care instruction booklet found, the instructions are just printed on a small thin piece of paper. Fortunately, the quality of the brush itself is not compromised. Sturdy handle, and the knot is very densely packed with luxurious soft tips. It splays quite easily with good backbone, and it whips up top notch quality lathers in less than a few tens of seconds. In my personal experience, the Trafalgar knot feels and performs highly similarly to the tuxedo knots. The brush did shed a hair or two in each use during the first 6 or 7 shaves, but eventually the shedding stopped. The Sovereign grade knot may not be as silky soft and absolutely scritch free as the Platinum grade knot used in the Chubby 2 and Classic 1 synthetics, but with that affordable price, I think this brush is a good value, and it's worth trying and keeping.
